Lately I’ve been experimenting with different types of crochet ribbing. I love the texture and elasticity a ribbed stitch gives to crochet fabrics. My trials & errors lead to these ‘knit look’ boot cuffs.
They’re so easy to make, use only a bit of yarn, and work up super quickly!
If you’d like, you can add tassels or pom pom embellishments to your cuffs. I chose to keep them simple so that they’ll be versatile enough to wear with any outfit. These cuffs totally transformed the look of my chunky heeled booties. I think they look cute as ‘faux boot socks’ too!

Without further ado, here is the free crochet pattern:

YO SC sounds exactly like HDC, a Half Double Crochet. Super simple sounding pattern and looks great.
Thank you so much! The stitch is just slightly different. I saw a Russian crocheter use it and I have no clue what the stitch would translate to in English. I’ll try to clarify that with an illustration.
These look cute and this will help get rid of my stash! One question though, would you please clarify on the gauge? I’m thinking it should be 8 rows x 13 stitches equals 4″ x 4″? Looking forward to getting some gifts done early!! Thank you!
Thank you for letting me know! This is the first time that I’ve ever measured gauge for a crochet accessory. I’ll definitely correct that in the original pattern. I hope they come out wonderfully for you!
I’m starting mine right now! Committed to using up some stash this year.
Thanks for the pattern. Super simple.
Awesome! I’d love to try these out in a few different textures of yarn. I hope they turn out well for you!
