I was inspired by this colorful acorn cap crochet garland by ing-things to create my own acorn decor.

I love how these colors don’t quite follow the traditional fall color palette. I opted to go for bright colors as well!
Size
1.5 inches (3.81 cm) long by 1 inch (2.54 cm) wide
Gauge
Gauge isn’t necessary for this pattern. The larger your hook or yarn weight, the larger your acorn will be.
Materials
- Stuffing (I used this stuffing)
- DK weight yarn in an assortment of colors
- 2.75 mm crochet hook (this is my favorite hook)
- tapestry needle
Skills Needed
- crocheting in back loops and front loops only
- crocheting in the round
- half double crochet and single crochet increase
- Invisible decrease
Abbreviations (US Terms)
- ch – chain
- BLO – back loop only
- FLO – front loop only
- hdc – half double crochet
- inc – increase
- invdec – invisible decrease
- mc – magic circle
- sc – single crochet
- sl st – slip stitch
Notes
- Chain 1 at the beginning of rows 1-8.
- Slip Stitch to the first stitch of the row at the end of each row of rows 1-8
- Rows 9-11 are worked without joining.
Pattern
Row 1: 3 sc in mc (3)
Row 2: inc around (6)
Row 3: inc around (12)
Rows 4-5: sc around (12)
Row 6: BLO sc around (12)
(The next row is worked in the FLO of row 6)
Row 7: *3 hdc, hdc inc* 3 times (15)
Row 8: sc around (15)
(The next row is not joined)
Row 9: invdec 11 times (4)
Rows 10-11: FLO sl st around (4)
Cut your yarn leaving a long tail and finish off.
Weave the yarn through all 4 of the last stitches and pull tight.
Secure the yarn tail by weaving it through the acorn.
Once I completed all of my acorns, I strung them onto a piece of baker’s twine to create a garland.
